Deadline Delayed for NC DLMI & NC DL Progress Rubric

For the 2020 school year, the deadline for the North Carolina Digital Learning and Media Inventory (NC DLMI) and the Digital Learning Progress Rubric (DLPR) has been extended to December 31, 2020, due to COVID-19 and the resulting school building closures. We understand both, the NCDLMI and DLPR,, require access to your buildings and the ability to meet and have discussions around providing accurate information.  As a reminder, the NCDLMI is due every year on June 30 and the DLPR is due every other year.  We hope delaying both of these reports to December will alleviate some burdens on you and your staff during this time.  We will continue to monitor the situation and revise as needed.

(Please note the data entered in the DLMI should be accurate as of the date of submission in December.)

In just a few days, NCDPI is launching their Open Educational Resources microsite, this is an extension of the OER Commons that is just for NC Educators aligned to North Carolina Standards.

The icon for accessing it will show up in NCEdCloud next Monday on December 16.  Once you are in the platform you can look for the JCPS Hub "Johnston County Goes Open" where we have been working with  Science and Social Studies teachers to vet resources for each of the priority standards.

Please help spread the word, flyers have been sent to all schools (some of you may be getting them in courier if so please hang them up).  Here is the electronic copy of the flyer if you have a way to also share electronically.  If you have any questions please email Amy Stanley or Melody Casey.

OER is coming in just 1 month

I'm super excited about the upcoming rollout of the GoOpen OER - December 15 is the anticipated release date from NCDPI. I can't wait to share more information about our Johnston County Hub soon.  However, in the mean time we (the OER steering team) would like to seek information from teachers to help us know where to go next and what resources are needed most.

Here is a short survey that has been shared with your principals, we hope you will also share as you can to get teachers to give us their feedback: Click here to take the survey!
