Today is the beginning of Computer Science Week and the kick off for the Hour of Code!  If you aren't familiar with Hour of Code check it out and sign up: https://hourofcode.com/us.

Here is the link to the activities check them out here: https://hourofcode.com/us/learn

In just a few days, NCDPI is launching their Open Educational Resources microsite, this is an extension of the OER Commons that is just for NC Educators aligned to North Carolina Standards.

The icon for accessing it will show up in NCEdCloud next Monday on December 16.  Once you are in the platform you can look for the JCPS Hub "Johnston County Goes Open" where we have been working with  Science and Social Studies teachers to vet resources for each of the priority standards.

Please help spread the word, flyers have been sent to all schools (some of you may be getting them in courier if so please hang them up).  Here is the electronic copy of the flyer if you have a way to also share electronically.  If you have any questions please email Amy Stanley or Melody Casey.
