Please let your teachers know:

Some teachers have been trying to send "bulk" emails to their students and they are not getting them.  Google has modified their settings some time last year that any message with mass emails get marked as "SPAM" therefore the messages might be shared to the recipients.

Also be mindful that all message going to student inboxes passes through the Gaggle Safety Filter so there is always a slight delay (typically just a few minutes) sometimes if the content appears as it might need to be check further (this delay might be longer - attachments and questionable links).

So when sending emails including invites to video conferencing sessions use one of the following best practices.

  1. Send the email to your self and blind copy your students
  2. Use the People Tab in Classroom -> and send the email from there (this pushes emails as single messages)
  3. Post your event (if your are using videoconferencing) on the Classroom Calendar - it is found at the top of your Classwork Tab (also in your list of calendars with name of the class) - direct the students to use the calendar to access your link.
  4. Schedule your message to go out as a Material from the Classwork tab and it will send students the reminder email that something has been posted.  Announcements on the stream will also work but can't be scheduled.
  5. If you use Canvas you can send these messages as an announcement to the class.
  6. If you have another form of communication - that too will be helpful - Remind, ClassDoJo, Edmodo, SeeSaw, etc are all great ways to get information to your students.
