It is great to get quick feedback from students or staff for a number of reasons. Maybe you want to do a quick check for understanding or poll staff on a choice of dates for a meeting, Mentimeter is free and allows you set up a poll in under a minute, with no account required!
You can create a free account if you wish to save your questions, or you can start typing your first question and click the green create question button.
Creating a question is a simple three step process. First you enter your question, secondly you enter your response choice and answer choices (if desired), then you select your theme. You can add multiple questions to create a short quiz or reflection. When you are done, click on the blue start presenting button.
You will see the summary screen which gives you the web address and code students need to respond.
This is what the students will see. They enter the code and click submit.
This is what the questions look like to the student. Very simple for students to respond.
As the responses are collected, your results are shown as a bar graph.
That's it! Very simple and easy tool to quickly gain feedback or assess learning. I particularly like the very minimal amount of advertising on the website, I think this is less distracting for students to use than other polling sites.
