ISTE Memberships Activated Next Week!
As shared in the BOY CTA meeting and in the School Library Media Coordinator Kickoff Event, every certified NC Educator (including administrators) will receive a membership to ISTE thanks to NCDPI initiative! Just a head's up for our tech contacts and media coordinators that these accounts will become active next week (in case you get questions or if you want to share once it is verified that accounts are indeed active).
The ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) community is a group of global educators who believe in the power of technology to transform teaching and learning and accelerate innovation.
With an ISTE membership, educators will have access to the following:
- Biweekly webinars
- Free access to self-paced courses
- Topic guides on topics such as digital citizenship, SEL, digital learning standards for students, & more
- Two newsletters sharing news and relevant discussion topics
- eBooksYear-round discounts on ISTE events, books, and courses
ISTE memberships will become active for all Certified NC Educators on Tuesday, September 6th. Individuals should receive an email from ISTE on that date letting them know that their accounts can be activated.
Things you need to know are:
- Certified staff will NOT have to click a link in the email, they will need to access their account by clicking on the ISTE icon in their NCEDCloud account.
- Anyone hired after August 23rd will not be able to access their account for a few more weeks. NCDPI had to pull the data and provide processing time and will send an update when the next round of data is able to be processed.
