Computer Science & Coding Choice Boards - Ready-to-Use Activities
Looking for a resource to help students learn about computer science topics, careers, or people who have made significant contributions to the field?
Thanks to Capstone and Future Ready Librarian spokesperson, Shannon McClintock Miller, there are great, ready-to-use choice boards for K - 12th grade students which incorporate informative PebbleGo articles and Capstone eBooks (with read aloud features, videos, and some in graphic novel format), as well as coding practice activities that give students an excellent overview of Computer Science.
The choice boards are linked below by grade level:
- K - 2nd grade Computer Science Choice Board (share link: bit.ly/elemcschoiceboards)
- 3rd grade - 6th grade Computer Science Choice Board (share link: bit.ly/elemcschoiceboards)
- 6th grade - 12th grade Computer Science Choice Board (share link: bit.ly/middlehighcschoiceboard)
Included on each grade level's computer science choice boards is also a coding choice board for students to have many opportunities and activities to explore and practice coding at their own pace.
We hope you have a great kickoff to Computer Science Education Week and Hour of Code! If you are on social media, be sure to use #HourofCode and #CSEverywhere. Can't wait to see what fun students have this week learning about computer science!
