Check Out These Public Library Resources!

The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield has so much to offer patrons! Here are just a few of the great resources that you can pass along to your teachers and students...

StudentAccess

September is “Library Card Sign-Up Month,”  but did you know that staff and students can use their PowerSchool ID as a library card?

Johnston County affiliated libraries have partnered with JCPS to expand student and staff resources through the StudentAccess program. Students and staff can use their full PowerSchool ID number as a library card. Not only do staff and students have access to electronic resources and library databases, but they can also borrow up to ten print or audiobooks at one time as well as use library computers.

Students and staff will log into online library resources or their library account by using the full PowerSchool ID number as the library card number. Online resources may require a PIN or password, and in this case,  the last four digits of the PowerSchool ID number is the PIN/ password. To get started, see grade level resources or FAQs, click HERE.

If you or the staff at your school want to learn more about these resources, there will be a virtual professional learning session this Thursday, September 30th (grades 6-12 session from 3:30pm to 4:30pm and K-5 session from 4:30pm to 5:30pm). Register in advance at bit.ly/jcpsteacher.

Please feel free to share the linked flyer with the teachers and staff at your school: K-12 Literacy-Rich Resources with the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield.
