Today was the big day - here is what all happened today to help you be ready for Monday.  Terry Thompson built all the student accounts K-12. He emailed you this file so you would have it for additional database uploads you might need to do.  Along with this he set up students in AD and Google Mail - grades 9-12.  Doug Denton and team finished the AD set up at South Campus and we all worked on the ipads in our office.

I worked with Gaggle to get all the student accounts created and the teacher accounts updated to the new domain.  All student accounts follow the same username as their Novell log in and their password is the same as Novell as well.  I also updated the log in box on the JCOC and SOC pages.  Teacher accounts are the same username and password as previously at the old site, but now their email is @jcsnc2.org.  This will allow for student management and class creation as well as continued access to Gaggle Tube as needed.

Jamie worked with the student Moodle accounts, he was able to add all the students 9-12 into the system: http://jcs2.remote-learner.net.  Their username is the same as Novell and the password here is Welcome#1.  All Moodle instructors were sent a message about how to enroll students in their classes.  Middle school and elementary students needing a Moodle account will be added upon request.

Kathy has just a few items left to complete the CTA training module in Moodle.  We hope to get all those who need this enrolled early next week.  A BUSY day for all of us!  We will be working on Discovery Ed accounts next week.  There are guides in the Tech Leaders folder for you to work with your own data in RenPlace, and Orchard, as well as directions for making log in cards (labels) if you want to do that for your students.

We were told today about some ESL mini laptops that were distributed this week.  These laptops are unimaged because in order to work properly at the school they need to be imaged on the school site.  Please check with your ESL person and encourage them get a IT Direct ticket created to have the laptop imaged so it will work in the school environment.  The bios needs to be set so your technician will need to do these on the next visit.  These are inventoried at the Central level so you do not need to include it in your school inventory anywhere.

72 hours and counting...Have a great weekend!  It is going to be a Great Start!
