1st Quarter Meeting
We enjoyed spending time with you yesterday at our 1st Quarter meeting. As a reminder, talking points from our discussion can be found in Google: Tech Contacts > Meetings > 2013.
As you might have noticed, Doug Denton delayed the Kaspersky update and is still working on another solution that wouldn't disrupt your things so much but here is an explanation that might help you better understand what is happening.
Kaspersky upgraded to version 1611. The license for our current version is expiring on 9/29. Under our current version, prior to the expiration date, multiple messages may appear at each workstation stating the license will expire in X-amount of days.
Kaspersky has discontinued support for our current version, and we are forced to upgrade the Kaspersky client software to version 1611 and to perform a second install of a required patch before the new license will install successfully.

Technology Services has looked at multiple scenarios for deployment
of the Kaspersky 1611 client software and the required patch and have
worked closely with the technical support department at Kaspersky. The
only viable solution for our environment is to perform the installs as
tasks through our Kaspersky server console. We have created tasks to
accomplish this and are still working out the least disruptive settings
to our users.

This is just a quick reminder that today is our quarterly meeting. The meeting will begin at 4:00 in the West Campus Conference Center. We hope to be finished by 5:30. This meeting will be our "Getting Up to Speed" session and should be attended by all CTA's.
