Google has announced an exciting change that is coming soon to all Google for Education users, increased storage!
(Google for Education users will get double this amount of storage for free, 30GB)
Currently, all users have 10GB of storage for their email accounts and a separate 5GB of storage for items on Google Drive (remember that items created using Google Apps or converted to Google Apps do not count against your drive storage).
Over the next few weeks, Google will be combining the storage for email and drive and DOUBLING the amount of storage space for Google for Education to 30GB per user.
This is great news for everyone! Now if you have more files on drive and less emails, you will have a more efficient use of storage space. The same is true if you prefer to keep emails and have less files on your drive. Google is trying to keep up with the demand for more space while also allowing for users to choose how they use their storage.
This change will take a few weeks to roll out and update each account. Please be patient if you do not have the extra storage yet, it is coming soon.
