Technology Showcase

  • We will still have the Technology Showcase at JCC on Tuesday, October 30.
  • Remember, the focus of the showcase is to showcase our students and how they are using instructional media and technology in the classroom to facilitate teaching & learning.  Please do not bear this burden alone.  Your role is to put feelers out there and facilitate the process which determines which teachers/students display their talents at the showcase.
  • Work with your administration to encourage staff members to stop by the Technology Showcase to get new instructional ideas.

 SMARTBoard

  • There are SMARTBoard troubleshooting guides in the Tech Leaders folder in Google Drive.  This is to help you troubleshoot at the local level before you contact your JCS technician.
  • Replacement UF 65 projectors are going out soon
  • Make sure to register new SMARTBoards for warranty purposes.  The serial number can be located  on the right side of most boards.  To register multiple boards at one time online, please go to the SMART product registration page.
    • Board Warranty: 5 years
    • Projector: 2 years
    • Speakers: 2 years

Google Mail
We've been asked to encourage staff to go into Mail settings and set up signatures.  Please direct teachers in your building to the video tutorial on the Going Google page or Google Drive public video.  Written directions can be accessed here.

E-Control

Please encourage staff members to set up E-Control security questions so they can reset their own passwords.  

iManager
When you create new students in iManager, please remember to fill out the information in the iManager spreadsheet.  Access the form by going to the iManager Account Creation form in the Google Tech Leaders folder > New for 2012.  Once you see the spreadsheet, click on Form (at the top) > Go the live form.  Or you can click here.
