This week we are featuring a web tool for early elementary students from Scholastic. Building Language for Literacy is a collection of three online activities that are interactive whiteboard friendly for students to learn spelling, naming, and rhyming.
To get started, visit: http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/bll/index.htm
Click on one of the characters to begin. There is also a teacher guide with lesson ideas available in the lower right corner.

The activities are very engaging and would be a great student technology center with a SMARTBoard or iPad.
Building Language for Literacy is just one of many free activities Scholastic has available for students. Visit Scholastic for Teachers to see a complete list of free activities available. If you want to view just the whiteboard activities that Scholastic has, click here to see the activities by subject area.
I hope you explore some of the great resources available from Scholastic!
