This school year we have run into numerous situations of students needing to access YouTube for valid instructional reasons. As a result, with Dr. Croom's blessing, we have decided to implement a 2 month pilot where we open YouTube at the student level.

Please note that the content will still go through our filter AND the default setting will be "safe" mode, which adds another layer of safety.

While we will not advertise this to students, we do want to make teachers aware as they may need to be more diligent in their classroom monitoring. During this 2 month period, we will be analyzing technical issues, such as bandwidth use. At the end of the pilot, we also plan to survey teachers for their feedback as to whether it was a beneficial instructional tool or not. Here is a handout you may want to share with your staff. Thanks and have a great day!
