For several years, SAS Curriculum Pathways has been encouraging individual student accounts to take advantage of enhanced functionality—including the ability to save student work from one session to another and to share work using the Portfolio. In response to teacher feedback, we are updating lessons every month to incorporate these features.  With personal access, your students have expanded capability for a more powerful learning experience.  Additionally, individual accounts assure parental consent for student use of Curriculum Pathways and reflect our commitment to the privacy and protection of student dataWhen students return in the fall there will no longer be a generic student log in for your school.

Please share the following information with your teachers to make sure they know all the options available to them:
  1. Teacher ‘sign-up’ code  Teachers with active Curriculum Pathways accounts who have verified their email addresses can receive ‘sign-up’ codes to help students under 18 create individual accounts. Students register on the Sign Up page where they can include this unique ‘sign-up’ code provided by their teacher as part of the account creation process. Their accounts are activated immediately; there is no delay waiting for parent authorization. Please see this FAQ on using a ‘sign-up code’ to create student accounts.
To receive a sign-up code,
  1. Log in with your teacher user name and password.
  2. Click the Settings tab under the Welcome image.
  3. Click the Students button.
  4. Agree to the “Educator Terms of Use” acknowledging parental permission to use Curriculum Pathways.
  5. A special URL/link appears along with a ‘code.’
Share the URL or the code with students. With the URL, students are directed to a customized Sign Up page and prompted to create their personal accounts (set up a user name and password and provide an associated email address). Alternatively, teachers provide the code and direct students to enter it when prompted for the ‘sign-up code’ on the Sign Up page.
  1. District consent - Your school or district can also provide consent that will generate a unique URL for distribution to teachers and students. This URL directs applicants to a customized Sign Up page. The school or district leadership accepts the Curriculum Pathways License Agreement on behalf of all educators and students and authorizes individual student accounts without parental intervention.  We have already done this in JCPS so you can access the sign in for students on the Student Online Connections page: https://www.johnston.k12.nc.us/soc
