Chromebook Reminders

This is a reminder to always email chromebook barcode(s), serial number(s), and intended use (admin, teacher, or student) to April Richardson for device management.

April also needs the same information in order to remove a device from management when it has been replaced or retired.

Also, when chromebooks are purchased separate from LINQ (via grant, PTA, etc.), purchasing a google license is still required for each device. We have a quote in our shared folder for purchasing the license. Devices should not be enrolled until the licenses have been paid for!

NEW CHROMEBOOKS - April recently ran a report to reconcile the devices in Destiny with her list.  So, moving forward you will only need to email her barcodes and serial numbers for devices that were not in Destiny as of February 1, 2018.

DISCARDED CHROMEBOOKS - When you have a device that is no longer usable (retired, available for parts, lost, stolen, etc.), you should complete this form for each device so they can be removed from JCPS management.  I believe there is an option in the form to attach a list from your google drive if you have numerous devices.  This is information is also needed only if the status was changed (retired, available for parts, lost, stolen, etc.) after February 1, 2018.

Please note, once you delete a resource, you cannot retrieve the serial number which is basically the one thing we must have to remove the device.  So if you have any devices that have been deleted out of Destiny (before completing the form), there is no way to reconcile that.

In other words, any Destiny entries prior to February 1, 2018 has been taken care of already.  You will only need to take action and complete the form for devices that were added or had a status change beginning February 1, 2018.  I hope everyone is having a great Monday!  As always, please call Christa Leverette at 1011 if you have additional questions.  ðŸ˜Š
