Elementary Media Coordinators
You have been invited by Kathy Parker, School Library Consultant with DPI,
to participate in the survey below.
Please take a moment to participate as all insight we can give to others from
our lens is vital in continuing to move our library programs forward.

Dear Colleagues,
I am conducting a brief, anonymous survey about how school media specialists in elementary schools decide what books to purchase for their school’s media collection. I am writing to invite you to complete the survey.
The survey will take only about 5 minutes to complete. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you may refuse to answer any question or stop at any time, without penalty. While you will not receive any direct benefits from participation in this study, you will be contributing to the body of knowledge related to the diversity of books in school media centers.
The university requires that I include the following information: "The data you provide will be kept secure once it is in the researcher's possession. However, the research cannot guarantee security during transmission of data due to keylogging or other spyware that may exist on the computer you are using." This research project was approved by the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Institutional Review Board #17-0080.
If you will help me with this research, all you need to do is click the link provided above, complete the questionnaire, and click "Submit." By submitting the survey, it is assumed that you have given informed consent to participate in this study. You may complete the survey on any computer (or other electronic device) that has internet access.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Swafford, Ph.D.
