WhatsDue is a simple reminder service that allows teachers to create class assignments and send reminders to parents/students via a free app available for Apple and Android devices. The big difference between WhatsDue and other services such as Remind is that the communication is only one way. Parents/students cannot reply to reminders and there is no personal information linked to the account by either party.

Follow the directions to create your first course.

Create your first reminder:

Now, you should see your teacher dashboard. WhatsDue gives each class you create a code that students/parents can enter in the app to join your class reminders. You can also invite participants in your classroom by email (all email addresses will be hidden from participants).

The WhatsDue app is free and available for Apple and Android devices. The app allows parents/students to set up custom reminders for all events in your classroom. For example, a student can set a reminder for one hour before due dates in one class and their parent can set different reminders on their device. I love the customization WhatsDue allows for each subscriber.

WhatsDue also allows teachers to set-up recurring events. Need to remind students to bring their band instruments on Wednesdays? Just click the circle button on the teacher dashboard to add a recurring event.

I hope you explore WhatsDue as a way to improve communication with your students and parents.
